2013 WALT "Rita's Crown" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
$100.00Members only
Rita's Crown is a very powerful example of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. The very light calcareous chalky soils lend a distinctive aroma and flavor profile to the wine. This is a high elevation vineyard with extremely limiting soils that produces small vines that tend to struggle leading to small clusters with tiny berries. The resulting wine is concentrated, rich and has great depth.

Our 2013 Rita's Crown Pinot Noir is brilliant garnet in color. Its aroma profile shows nougat, five-spice, ripe strawberry and rosewater. Intense red berry flavors on the palate give way to hints of cranberry. Freshly turned earth and minerality also come through. Sturdy oak character balances nicely with the powerful fruit that is characteristic of this wine.
