Our St. Helena Estate vineyard is planted in alluvial soils strewn across an ancient creek bed. The soils are light and packed with river rock and gravel. These well-drained soils, coupled with a warm growing region, encourage the vines to produce prodigious wines of great power.

Temperatures were moderate and slightly cooler in 2013, providing the opportunity to harvest according to our winemaker’s preference and not due to weather conditions. This vintage’s wines are extremely concentrated in their textural richness. They showcase massive personalities and should be extremely long lived.
